The project is located in the heart of Bordeaux’s Historical Centre, a city which has been labeled as World Heritage by the UNESCO, and links its two main shopping streets, Ste Catherine and Porte Dijeaux.
Its aim is to create a neighborhood with streets and an urban square, where the shops will be next to the houses and to the historical buildings which have been preserved because of their architectural value. The facades, as well as the volumes, perfectly merge into the preexisting background and into the neighborhood, which allows the whole project not only to become impregnated with its urban life but also to enrich it. Another crucial aspect of the design is its respect for the targets set by the HQE (Haute Qualité Environnementale) label as well as its commitment for a sustainable and responsible development: not only it responds to the challenges presented by the climatic change, but it’s also a chance of creating enriching individual experiences.
