Pozuelo de Alarcón, Spain
A residential complex of 64 homes in the town of Pozuelo de Alarcón (MADRID). The project consists of two 4 storey, L-shaped blocks, positioned opposite each other to create a paved outdoor space in between with communal gardens providing access to the seven entrances. In the middle of this space, a central recess allows light down to the basement, which is shared between the two buildings and contains parking and communal leisure areas. This projects stands out because of its use of volumes and its thoughtful layout of the interior spaces and recesses to allow in natural light from the sides and above. The ventilated façade is made from light panels of compressed rock wool which echo the wood finishes. The ensemble is completed with sports facilities including a paddle tennis court, swimming pool, gym, sauna and children's play area.
